Gemma Laurence is an up-and-coming singer/songwriter based in Middlebury, VT. Influenced by Joni Mitchell, Norah Jones, and Gregory Alan Isakov, Laurence’s acoustic sound is a blend of Americana, folk, and jazz. Inspired by the poetry of W.H. Auden and Sylvia Plath, Laurence’s raw, heartfelt lyrics revolve around the image of doorways to explore the idea of finding home in both people and places. Laurence’s debut EP, Crooked Heart, will be released in June 2019.
