Kitchen Supervisor – Shelburne Museum

New leadership opportunity in a new local food outlet!

There’s a new kid on the local food scene: Shelburne Museum is opening a “Local Food Court” this summer and we’re hiring a key member of our leadership team: Kitchen Supervisor. Wanted: a passionate, experienced back of house ninja ready to work with our General Manager and Executive Chef to execute a new local food concept in an iconic Vermont environment.

This position’s key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising kitchen staff at the Shelburne Museum
  • Working toward 100% guest satisfaction with our food
  • Managing variable costs including labor, food, beverage and operational supplies
  • Ordering, taking inventory and maintaining quality food and execution of the food to guests.
  • Leading and motivating the BOH team, showing enthusiasm about the local food movement here in VT, and having a confidence in their responsibility to make rational decisions in challenging situations.

Our thriving cafe serves tens of thousands of meals to locals and tourists visiting the museum, but this year we decided to step it up and team up with leaders in VT local food scene to create a local food court with separate stations showcasing the best of Vermont summer snacking.
