Happy #GivingTuesday, Pancakia! Today we want to take some time to share a little about our new Crepes For A Cause initiative as part of our 1% for the Planet membership.

This month, we are launching a new program called “Crepes for a Cause” in which we will feature different organizations to receive 1% of all Sugarshack sales. That means, for the remainder of November and all of December we will be sending 1% of all Sugarshack sales from our Albany location to Upstate NY’s Soul Fire Farm and 1% of all Sugarshack sales from our VT locations to Burlington’s Intervale Center.

About Soul Fire Farm:

Soul Fire Farm is an Afro-Indigenous centered community farm committed to uprooting racism and seeding sovereignty in the food system. With 80 acres of farm and forest land that historically was stewarded by the Stockbridge-Munsee Band of the Mohican Nation and is based in what is now commonly called “Rensselaer County”, Soul Fire Farm cultivates and shares food and medicine, skills, and radical community care with neighbors near and far.

About the Intervale Center:

Located on 360 acres of farmland, forest and trails along the Winooski River in Burlington, Intervale Center works across Vermont to enhance farm viability and land sustainability, and more broadly serve as a model for food and farming organizations throughout the world.
