As part of our commitment to 1% For the Planet, we donate 1% of our SugarShack crepe sales each month to select beneficiaries across Vermont and New York.

For the month of October we’ve chosen VPIRG as the beneficiary for all of our Vermont locations, and NY’s Mill Brook Preserve for our Albany crepe shop.

VPIRG

VPIRG’s mission is to promote and protect the health of Vermont’s people, environment, and locally-based economy by informing and mobilizing individuals and communities across the state.

Founded in 1972, the Vermont Public Interest Research Group (VPIRG) is the largest nonprofit consumer and environmental advocacy organization in the state. For fifty years, VPIRG has brought the voices of everyday Vermonters to public policy debates concerning the environment, health care, consumer protection, and democracy.

As a 501(c)(4) nonprofit advocacy group, VPIRG conducts nonpartisan public interest advocacy in support of priority public issues and campaigns. It seeks legislative and policy solutions to make Vermont an even better place to live. VPIRG advocates and organizers use independent research, policy analysis, public outreach, and grassroots mobilization to design and implement effective strategies for each of their campaigns.

Mill Brook Preserve

Mission:
To promote and protect biodiversity and wildlife habitats while providing recreational and educational opportunities within the Mill Brook Preserve.

Mill Brook Preserve Incorporated (MBPI) was established in 2016 by a group of community members committed to protecting the Mill Brook Preserve, located in the heart of New Paltz, NY. The organization worked in conjunction with the Village and Town of New Paltz and the Wallkill Valley Land Trust to protect the preserve in perpetuity through conservation easements placed over the entire 134 acres.
